“Make Way!” is the 13th episode of the Cycle Alwas, and the 13th of the overall series. It first aired on June 28, 2006.
Synopsis[]
The Earth Team must race their sixth race, which is determined at random. It turns out that they must race against Toros. Can their new Star-Racer, the Whizzing Arrow 3, stand against him?
Full Recap[]
A group of Scrub mechanics help the Earth Team build a new Star-Racer from scratch. The Whizzing Arrow 3 is complete, and it has a entirely new engine and thrusters, and the fuel capacity has been increased. Satis delivers a message to Don Wei announcing the opponent for the Earth Team in the sixth race, which has been randomly chosen by the judges. It turns out Toros is their next opponent and has yet to lose, but the Earth Team must beat him in order to qualify for Ōban.
Molly starts out well against Toros, and doesn't fall for his tricks the second time. The new hyper-drive system enables the Arrow 3 to maneuver more easily and travel faster. However, Toros is still too fast even at his normal cruising speed, so Koji and Stan discuss their alternate thrust engine that is new to the Whizzing Arrow 3. If it fails, Stan says, the hull could be ripped apart. Don Wei says that there is no choice if they hope to win, so Molly activates the thrust engine. The Arrow 3 passes Toros, who uses this distance to prepare his trident attack. At the last second, Molly veers out of the way. The two of them are neck and neck at the end, and Molly begins to tailgate Toros, who considers this suicidal. Molly passes Toros right before they cross the finish line and wins the race.
However, the Race Judges proclaim that the Earth Team's fate will be determined by a rematch between Prince Aikka and Spirit. If Aikka wins, the Earth Team can progress to Ōban. Toros wants Aikka to lose on purpose to prevent this, but Aikka rebels and wins the race. The three teams continuing to Ōban are the Crog Team, the Nourasian Team, and the Earth Team. Rick decides he has taught Molly all he can and goes back to Earth.
